Police Activity: A Six-Week Low for Lower Merion Service Calls

The LMPD jurisdiction responded to 663 incidents.

The week ending Sept. 18 generated fewer Lower Merion Police Department calls for service than any week since Patch began tracking the statistics in early August.

A report posted on the township's website showed police responded to 663 incidents. The three previous weeks, from latest to earliest, produced and calls, records show.

A version of the report, sorted by the type of incident, is attached to this article. In the past week, the police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:

  • 1 attempted suicide
  • 3 burglaries
  • 3 cases of criminal mischief to automobiles
  • 2 death investigations
  • 3 cases of disorderly conduct
  • 1 drug overdose
  • 3 cases of driving under the influence
  • 7 fires
  • 1 fraud (listed specifically as "flim flam")
  • 4 car accidents with injuries
  • 28 car accidents with property damage
  • 3 cases of public drunkenness
  • 1 rescue
  • 1 robbery
  • 1 indecent assault listed under "sex offenses"
  • 2 simple assaults
  • 18 thefts
