Police Blotter: Philadelphia Woman Arrested in Lord & Taylor Theft

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd area:

  • Retail Theft: Police said employees observed a woman taking a watch from a display case at about 1:12 p.m. Feb. 9. Aisha Williams, 35, of the 1600 block of Lindley Ave., Philadelphia, was arrested and was charged with retail theft, police said. The watch was valued at $250 and was recovered, police said.
  • Theft: Three bikes, skis and golf clubs were stolen from a detached garage on the 100 block of Derwen Road in Bala Cynwyd sometime between 7 a.m. Feb. 7 and 10 a.m. Feb. 11, police said. The garage doors were left unlocked and there were no signs of force, police said. No value was given for any of the items stolen, and no one was seen or heard, police said.
  • Public Drunkenness: Police responded to the 200 block of Ashland Avenue in Belmont Hills about 1 a.m. Feb. 12 on a report of a woman running up and down the street knocking on doors. Police said the woman had been dropped off by a taxi and was trying to get back to St. Joseph’s, where she is a student. Marla Cain, 19, of the unit block of Centennial Road in Washington Crossing, PA, was arrested and charged with possessing false identification, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
