Theft from Vehicle on Narberth's South Side

It happened Tuesday afternoon, police say.

A $400 global-positioning-system device was stolen Tuesday afternoon from a vehicle on the south side of Narberth, police Sgt. Bob Yantorno said.

The Honda Odyssey minivan was parked in a driveway on the 200 block of Woodside Avenue between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Yantorno said.

It is believed the vehicle was unlocked. No items other than the GPS were reported stolen.

Other police business

Yantorno also reported retail theft charges for a 43-year-old borough man in a Jan. 5 incident.

The man stole 17 pieces of candy from Mapes 5 & 10 about 3:15 p.m. and was arrested immediately afterward, Yantorno said.

He was also charged for possession of hypodermic needles.
