Lower Merion police on Monday reported the following recent incidents from Penn Valley:

  • Jewelry worth at least $12,000 was stolen from a home on the 200 block of Ardleigh Road in Penn Valley between Nov. 22 and Jan 2, police said.
The items stolen include a 14-carat yellow gold ring containing a 1.23-carat diamond, valued at $6,000, and an 18-carat yellow gold bracelet, also valued at $6,000.
The complainant told police that she had last seen the jewelry on Nov. 22 and went to look for it on Jan. 2 and saw the two items missing from the locked drawer where she keeps her jewelry.
There was no force to the outside of the house, police said.
  • An 18-carat white gold diamond necklace worth $7,700 was stolen from a home on the 1200 block of Bobarn Drive in Penn Valley sometime between Oct. 27 and Jan. 1, police said.
The necklace had been hidden in an obscure area accessed only by key, but the homeowner went to look for the necklace on Jan. 1 and couldn’t find it, according to the report.
  • Overnight on Jan. 10, an unknown person entered an unlocked car on the 200 block of Wynne Lane in Penn Valley and removed all the items from the car’s glove box and center console and threw them around the car, according to police.
Nothing was removed, including the owner’s wallet, which had been left in the vehicle.
The vehicle’s owner said he doesn’t have any idea who could have done it, nor does he think it was a prank, police said.
There was no loss reported, or damage done to the vehicle, according to the report.
