Bala Cynwyd-Area Artists Have Two Days to Enter Library Contest

The Gladwyne Library League is running the show.

The Gladwyne Library League is accepting entries for its annual arts and crafts show through March 5.

Entries are limited to Lower Merion residents and have to be original in order to be judged, according to a flyer announcing the event. Those who are interested should bring entries to the Gladwyne Library between 3 and 5 p.m. Friday, March 4, or between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, March 5.

Entry forms are available at the library's front desk to be filled out when submitted are entries or beforehand, according to the flyer.

The categories for both professionals and non-professionals include: Painting, drawing and sculpting; crafts; photography; needlework; and group projects in any medium, the flyer states.

Each entry costs $1 to defray the library league’s expenses, though children and youth may submit entries for free. Entries for paintings, drawing and photographs are limited to four per person, according to the flyer.

Participants who choose not to sell their artwork may pick up their entries from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, according to the flyer.

The show itself runs from Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 12 at the Gladwyne Library. There is a preview party from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The rest of the show’s hours are: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
