Trail Construction Lagging After Storm; Bridge Meeting Thursday Night

A Sept. 23 groundbreaking ceremony has been postponed.

Hurricane Irene and other storms set construction back two weeks, requiring the postponement of a "grand opening" set for Sept. 23, project leader Chris Leswing announced in a Lower Merion Township news release Wednesday.

"The landscaping, fencing and other safety amenities need to be completed before we can host the ceremony," Leswing said. "We want the Trail to be at its best for the official grand opening."

That will now be Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
