Repaired Narberth Avenue Bridge Reopens to Vehicles

The bridge is open to all traffic.

The Narberth Avenue Bridge opened to vehicular traffic Friday after being closed to traffic since mid September. Workmen made a temporary repair to the bridge's understructure this week by installing a new girder near an original girder that had a defective section. The bridge is 109 years old and slated for replacement in 2013. The repair is intended to keep the bridge operational until it is replaced. We stopped by to take a few photos.
