'Narberth Commons' Vote Approaches

Homes are planned at the site of the former Narberth United Methodist Church. A conditional-use hearing is set for late October.

The borough government of Narberth is holding a conditional-use hearing at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 on the 200-206 Price Ave. property, better known as the former home of Narberth United Methodist Church.

Site owners plan 12 condo units total in the church building, an adjacent building and a planned third building, dubbing the community Narberth Commons.

Craig Brand, one of the real estate agents on the Narberth Commons team, said this week in a statement to media that they are " confidently moving forward with the submission of our final documents for approval from Narberth Borough."

Brand added that renovating the 93-year-old church building for a residential purpose "presents the greatest structural challenge, but (is) a magnificent structure in which to work."
