No Budge in Narberth Budget for 2014

Healthcare costs options a factor in holding off tax rate increase.

Narberth Borough Council adopted the 2014 budget with no tax rate increase via a 4-0 vote on Dec. 30, keeping the tax rate at 8.775 mills for a fourth consecutive year, reports the Main Line Media News.

The borough budget of $4.394M is a decrease from November’s preliminary number of $4.451M estimated by Borough Manager Bill Martin.  The reduction is chiefly due to anticipated decrease in the healthcare costs of members of the police department, reports Main Line Media News.
