Take a Look at Narberth's Proposed Tax-Neutral Budget for 2012

The borough and Lower Merion have similar plans.

residents got their first 2012 budget news at Monday night's Borough Council meeting, and it was better than last year's tidings, as the borough is planning to keep the tax rate the same.

A PDF copy of the budget is attached to this article. About $4.3 million in expenses and revenue are expected for 2012, the same as in 2011. The borough would keep the same number of jobs, assistant borough manager Fred Hansell said.

The council has not scheduled a final vote on the budget. The 2011 budget was approved in the last week of December 2010.

The Narberth tax rate obligates the owner of a $150,000 home to pay $1,316 a year. The tax rate  from 2010 to 2011, increasing that cost about $65.

Lower Merion Township, which raised taxes 10.8 percent in 2011, also  in 2012.
