High School District Transition: Welsh Valley MS Walk Zone Students Visit to LMHS

High School Transition Dates & Information for 8th Grade Families:

The 8/9 transition process for the 2012-13 is set to begin with a series of events this month and will continue throughout the duration of the current school year. Please refer to the following key dates as you prepare for your child's transition to high school:

January 10: 
Harriton High School - 9:00 AM  -  LGI
District Transition meeting for parents of students receiving special education services.

January 11: 
Lower Merion High School  -  10:00 AM  -  Auditorium
Welsh Valley Middle School students currently residing in the walk-zone area will visit LMHS.

January 12: 
Harriton High School  -  10:00 AM  -  Auditorium
All Welsh Valley Middle School students visit HHS.

January 12: 
Harriton High School  -  7:00 PM  -  Auditorium
District transition meeting for all parents of eighth grade students who will be attending either LMHS or HHS.

January 20:   
SCHOOL CHOICE DEADLINE

January 27: 
High school mailing to include parent letter, individualized course selection sheet and Program planning guide.

February 8:
Lower Merion High School  -  7:00 PM  -  Auditorium
Course selection evening for parents of students attending LMHS in grades 9-12 during the 2012-2013 school year.

February 9: 
Harriton High School - 7:0 PM  -  Auditorium
Course Selection evening for parents of students attending HHS in grades 9-12 during the 2012-2013 school year.

February 14:
Welsh Valley Middle School  -  8:20 AM  -  Computer Labs
HHS school counselors will meet with each 8th grade student to discuss course selection and to register the students for classes.

February 15:
Welsh Valley Middle School  -  8:20 AM  -  Computer Labs
LMHS school counselors will meet with each 8th grade student to discuss course selection and to register the students for classes.

May 8:
Harriton and Lower Merion High School  -  10:00 AM  -  Gymnasium "Move up Day"

June 1:
Students will receive copies of the summer assignments in both English and Math.

June 18:
A list of summer transition activities will be published.
