Video Primes Lower Merion Fans for Playoffs

A home game Friday against Penncrest begins district-tournament play.

An aspiring filmmaker in 's sophomore class this week produced a YouTube video of highlights from the boys' basketball team's stellar season, something fans can watch as they gear up for Friday's playoff opener.

The second-seeded Aces, champions of the Central League host No. 31 Penncrest at 7 p.m. Friday in the first round of the District 1 tournament. (The girls' team then will host Boyertown at 6 p.m. Saturday in its own playoff opener.)

Wynnewood resident Benji Dunaief, 16, shot most of the footage himself and made a soundtrack by mixing versions of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. The whole process took about five hours, he told Patch; the video is attached to this article.

Dunaief has made several videos of the team since midway through the 2010-2011 season, viewable at his "DunaieFilms" YouTube channel, he said.

"I love watching them play. They're a lot of fun," he told Patch. After seeing half a dozen regular season games, "I plan on going to and filming almost every postseason game."

Dunaief said he has been passionate about film since the third grade: "In the future, I aspire to join the film industry and continue making movies. I never had a doubt that this is what I wanted to do."
