LMSD Finalizes Webcam-Case Settlement With Former Student

Joshua Levin will get between $10,000 and $20,000.

The Lower Merion Board of School Directors approved settlement agreements Monday night to end the laptop-camera photo court case brought by 2009 Harriton graduate Joshua Levin.

The district will pay Levin $10,000, and district insurer Graphic Arts Mutual Insurance Company will pay him another amount, less than $10,000, district spokesman Doug Young said.

The board approved the settlements without comment, in a unanimous vote of all members present.

Levin lodged a against the district in June, saying his laptop camera had automatically taken unwanted photographs of him without his knowledge. At both parties' request, in late December once a settlement had been reached in principle.

Current Harriton senior Blake Robbins got $175,000 from the district in over 'spycam' allegations; his sister Paige Robbins against the district Jan. 11.
