Lower Merion SD Classes are Finalists in Citizenship Challenge Essay Contest

Students will present their essays in hopes of winning the top prize of $1,000 for their class.

Multiple classes from the Lower Merion School District are among the ten finalists in the 2013 Finals Competition for the Citizenship Challenge Essay Contest. 

The Rendell Center for Citizenship and Civics at Arcadia University and the National Constitution Center is hosting the 2013 Finals Competition for contest.

The top ten 4th and 5th grade class finalists from schools around the region will present their essays and engage in a brief question and answer session with the judges that will help determine the Grand Prize and Runner-up winners.

The finals will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11 at The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Judges include Ed Rendell, Former Pennsylvania Governor, Judge Marjorie Rendell, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Dr. Jeffrey Rosen, President and CEO, the National Constitution Center, Beth Specker, Executive Director, The Rendell Center for Citizenship and Civics, and Dr. Steve O. Michael, Provost, Arcadia University.
