No LMSD Contract Yet After Talks, Says Union President

Officials from the Lower Merion School District and the Lower Merion Education Association met Thursday.

Contract negotiations for about 1,300 Lower Merion School District employees on Thursday did not conclude in a deal, their union president told Patch late Thursday.

Though there may be additional talks Monday with district officials, none had been formally scheduled as of Thursday night, said Chris SantaMaria, president of the Lower Merion Education Association, which represents teachers and many other school staff members.

District representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday night. The district has mostly adhered to a no-comment policy during active negotiations.
