What a small world.

A slice of life.

A friend of mine, who grew up in Bala Cynwyd, moved to Manhattan about 20 years ago.  She  has become a "real" New Yorker who moves to the tempos of the city.  If she feels like getting a manicure, she just walks into the first nail salon that she sees, the salons appear to exist on every corner.  So, one day last week, she walked into a nail salon, sat down to get her nails done - all spur of the moment - and started talking to the woman who was sitting next to her.  And here's where the small world takes over.  Turns out, they went to the same schools, although a few years apart, and her family still lives in Merion.  Another friend of mine said "you always have to wear clean socks."  How true!
