Philadelphia Marathon Street Closures

See which streets are closing, and when, for the Sunday morning race.

The 26.2-mile Philadelphia Marathon, which starts at 7 a.m. Sunday, will require many city streets to be closed during certain periods this weekend.

  • The inner lanes of the Ben Franklin Parkway will close from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. (Parkway cross streets will close during those Sunday hours, too.)
  • Kelly Drive will close at 5 a.m. Sunday and reopen at 4 p.m.
  • Vine Street Expressway interchanges at 22nd and 23rd streets may close Sunday morning, according to the marathon's website.
  • All streets that are part of the course—including Arch Street, Columbus Boulevard, South Street, Chestnut Street, 34th Street and Manayunk's Main Street—will close on a rolling basis as runners go by. See the course map for more details.
