Penn Valley Water-Main Replacement, Road Work Expected Into September

Pipes are being replaced beneath Old Gulph Road.

Sections of the half-mile of Old Gulph Road between Montgomery Avenue and Hagys Ford Road will be closed intermittently over the next one and a half to two months, according to the Lower Merion Township Public Works Department.

Aqua PA is replacing water mains and moving from north to south, said public works inspector Jerry Adams. Work at the road's intersection with Bryn Mawr Avenue is expected to be done on or around next Wednesday, July 18, after which crews would work near the Clarendon Road intersection for about four days, then the Braeburn Lane intersection for another four, Adams said.

After another couple days to extend the repairs to Montgomery Avenue, work is expected to cease for about three weeks (while the patched road "settles") before a week or two of final repaving, Adams said.
