Forecast Dicey for Busy Weekend

Cleanups and fundraisers are scheduled outside. Some rain is expected.

The National Weather Service, in callous disregard for the various and vital outdoor enterprises scheduled Saturday and Sunday in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch area, is forecasting a 60 percent chance of rain from lunchtime Saturday through the rest of the weekend.

No events have been canceled or postponed as of Thursday, but there are some contingency plans in place. The events include the following:

  • The Narberth Cystic Fibrosis Run starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at . Entry fee is $35; pre-registration is available Friday evening and Saturday morning; see for details.
  • The Belmont Hills Civic Association will Jefferson Street from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. No rain is forecast for Saturday morning.
  • , the borough's "festival of environmentally sustainable living," is set for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The rain date is next Saturday, April 28, and the back-up rain date is Sunday, April 29, according to the Narberth Civic Association.
  • The Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail are targeting 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday (originally 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) for . Those who expect to have a better chance with the weather Saturday afternoon can join the friends then to do some trail work.
