American Board of Ophthalmology
The American Board of Ophthalmology is an independent, not-for-profit organization that oversees board certification. It serves to improve the condition and quality of opthalmic practice in the US. It is the oldest certifying board in the nation, founded in 1916. It offers resources for the certification of doctors, practices, organizations, educational programs, residencies and internships and the maintenance of the certification process.
