Residents of Bala Cynwyd started the Union Fire Association in 1903 with a horse-drawn carriage and 1,000 feet of hose. Today, the department has three trucks and 40 active members. The department's website tracks the number of fires in town each month. The 1,500-square-foot banquet hall is available for rent, accommodating up to 120 people.
