Former Ace to Play Basketball for Villanova University

Darryl Reynolds was a key player on Lower Merion High School's 2011-2012 state runner-up squad.

"Darryl Reynolds '12 will head down Lancaster Ave. to continue his athletic and academic career at Villanova University!!! ... Congratulations and best of luck to Darryl as he takes this exciting next step!!!" The news came Tuesday afternoon from Aces Basketball on Facebook and Twitter: Reynolds, a key member of Lower Merion High School's 2011-2012 state runner-up team, would be playing his college ball on the Main Line for the Villanova Wildcats. Before Reynolds made his announcement Tuesday at LMHS, the team site posted the following recap of his career: Reynolds, a 6'8 forward, helped lead the Aces to the 2012 state finals and an undefeated Central League campaign. Voters Pick Patch’s Greatest Baseball Fan

Signed sports memorabilia from Carl’s Cards, $100 from Wayne Sporting Goods and Grand Slam batting cage time go to the winner.

Congratulations to Kelly Hutchinson, of Wayne, chosen by Patch’s users as the Greatest Baseball Fan 2013. The race was tight and Little League pictures were popular among our users. "The photo was taken at Lower Perkiomen Little League field on July 9 last summer at the District 27 Championships Devon Strafford vs. Upper Providence," Hutchinson told TE Patch. In it, her son Eric is celebrating a big win after a game in which he hit a home run. He's being lifted by players from the previous year's DSLL team, which also won the district championship. Philadelphia's Main Line is the Next Center of the World of Golf

Merion Golf Club will host the U.S. Open from June 13 to 16.

When the Masters Tournament concluded Sunday, golf fans worldwide turned their attention to the next major championship: the U.S. Open, coming in less than two months. This year, the world's elite golfers—including No. 1-ranked Tiger Woods and newly crowned Masters champion Adam Scott—will spend their Father's Day weekend here in the Philadelphia area. Merion Golf Club is hosting the U.S. Open. Here's what you need to know: Merion is situated along Ardmore Avenue roughly where Lower Merion's Ardmore section meets Haverford Township, about a mile southwest of Lancaster Avenue. Lower Merion Aces Championship Parade to be Held Sunday

The boys basketball team will be honored April 14 for their state championship victory.

A championship parade and community celebration will be held Sunday, April 14 to honor the Lower Merion Aces for their state basketball championship win over Chester last month. The parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at Suburban Square's Anderson Avenue parking lot, and will proceed to Lower Merion High School for a ceremony, rally, video highlights, a barbeque and contests, according to Aces Hoops.  Aces Hoops has posted the full route details on their Facebook page: The Lower Merion Aces championship parade and community celebration will be held Sunday, April 14, beginning at 1 PM from the Anderson Avenue parking lot in Suburban Square. Will Urinal Video Games Draw Phils Fans to Allentown?

It's an hour or so up Interstate 476 to the triple-A affiliate IronPigs' stadium, where a new gimmick is getting a lot of attention.

Urination-controlled video games are being installed this season at the home ballpark of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, triple-A minor league affiliate to the Phillies, the team announced Tuesday. Bethlehem Patch reported the men's restroom games from Captive Media are a first in North America. The attached YouTube clip shows response to the games in the United Kingdom. Sensors detect the stream in each urinal and manipulate the game shown on the screen above. "Players" will have their high scores recorded and displayed in the stadium, where the types of games will rotate  throughout the season.
