The Democrat from Pennsylvania had previously favored civil unions.
Sen. Robert Casey Jr. (D-PA) announced Monday he supports same-sex marriage, an issue that has dominated political debate recently as the U.S. Supreme Court considers the legality of allowing or banning it. The senator previously supported civil unions but had stopped short of backing legal marriages. He cited feedback from gay constituents as part of the reason his position has changed. Casey's full statement reads: When the Respect for Marriage Act (the legislation that repeals the Defense of Marriage Act [DOMA]) was first introduced and debated in the Senate in 2011, I began to focus on the issue of same-sex marriage much more intensely than I had before. As a candidate for the Senate in 2006 and 2012, and as a Senator, I have supported…

Democrats held the lead in three state row office races as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday with close to 98 percent of the vote in, according to unofficial results. Kathleen Kane, a former assistant district attorney from Lackawanna County, made history by becoming the first Democrat and first woman to be elected as the state's attorney general. The Republican candidate, David Freed, is a two-term district attorney in Cumberland County. Democrat Eugene DePasquale of York leads Republican John Maher of Allegheny in the auditor …

President Obama made his historic pronouncement during an interview with ABC News.
President Barack Obama has publicly come out in support of gay marriage, the first time in history that a sitting U.S. President has ever done so. Obama, who during the last presidential election stated that he opposed gay marriage, gave the news to ABC News' Robin Roberts in an interview that will air on ABC's “Good Morning America" on Thursday. "I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, …

and may I ask how you keep your underwear up without elastic - because Leviticus says you should not wear garments made of two different fabrics - so that poly cotton blend it out too - and how do you ask a woman when she is menstruating? because you are allowed no contact with them during this time - as Leviticus states as well - I find most women take offence when asked. pull your head out of …   more ›
