Cynwyd Elementary Principal Retiring After Four Decades in District

Connie DiMedio has spent 39 years in the district.

Lately, "every day is an emotional roller coaster" for Cynwyd Elementary School principal Connie DiMedio, who's retiring this summer after 12 years in her job and 39 years altogether in the Lower Merion School District. "I get very teary when the children say something to me about leaving Cynwyd," DiMedio told Patch in an email interview. "I love everything about the school, so it is difficult to leave something you love and a place you call your second home." Before taking Cynwyd's top job, DiMedio also worked at Gladwyne Elementary School and Harriton High School.
