Narberth Already Planning Next December's Dickens Festival

Participants in last Saturday's event can join a meeting Wednesday night to discuss what went well and what didn't.

Narberth borough and Business Association officials said at Monday night's council meeting they believed the past Saturday's sixth annual Dickens Festival was the biggest ever in the borough. Thousands attended and enjoyed the shopping, carriage rides, scavenger hunt, caroling and more. The event has gotten big enough that organizers are already planning for the 2013 edition. There will be a meeting at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Maido! grocery store on Narberth Avenue to discuss how the festival went and what, if anything, should be changed next time around. The Narberth Business Association recapped the event on Facebook: Feedback from last year’s meeting led us to close off part of Narberth Ave and Forrest Ave, to use safety barriers and …

It is so insane that they do not close the street for this event. It is such a nice time but incredibly dangerous. I watched 3 kids almost get hit by cars. I mean how hard is it to close the street for 3 hours??   more ›

Thousands Jam Downtown Narberth for Dickens Festival

The event kept everyone in the borough busy Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, the Narberth Dickens Festival transformed the main streets of Narberth into a parcel of 1840's London. One of the best Narberth festivals of the year! And the businesses and volunteers did such an amazing job. The weather was perfect, the streets were busy (yes, no cars would be nice) and the food and drinks were everywhere. A big thank you to those that organize the event.   more ›
