Former Philadelphia Officer Fills Narberth Police Vacancy

Sean McCabe starts his new job Tuesday night.

The borough of Narberth filled one of the vacancies on its six-officer police force Monday night, swearing in Officer Sean McCabe. At the Borough Council meeting, Mayor Tom Grady administered the oath to McCabe, who told Patch he is coming off 8 1/2 years on the Philadelphia Police Department and will take his first Narberth shift Tuesday night. Narberth's police force became shorthanded in September with Officer James Conway's resignation. Lt. Art Pavoni then retired at the end of November, leaving Sgt. Robert Yantorno as the highest-ranking officer. Lower Merion officers have helped fill in extra shifts in the months since.
