Narberth United Methodist Church Closing, Property for Sale

The congregation is merging with a Bryn Mawr church in early 2013. Community groups in Narberth need a new home.

Narberth United Methodist Church's congregation has decided to sell the property and attend a Bryn Mawr church instead, and the effect will extend well beyond the walls of both buildings. The 1-acre church property at Essex and Price avenues will go on the market within a week for an asking price of $1.7 million, said Narberth real estate agent John Duffy. Members voted just before Easter to merge with another church and were soon welcomed by St. Luke United Methodist Church, said Narberth UMC pastor Lydia Munoz. Does any one have any more news on this property? I live across the street and am very curious as to what the new buyer is going to do with the property. Another article said that they plan on turning the church into 11 condos. Does that mean they will knock down the church, or will they simply convert the same building into 11 different condos?
