Montgomery County Health Department inspected 10 Bala Cynwyd and Narberth restaurants and schools in the first half of April.
The Montgomery County Health Department conducted health inspections of 10 food service establishments in Bala Cynwyd and Narberth between April 1 and 15. Each facility inspected April 1-15 was found to have from 0 (Bala Cynwyd Middle School) to 10 (Joe's Crab Shack) infractions on a checklist of 54 items. The Montgomery County Health Department in early September reported six inspections of five food-service establishments in Narberth and Bala Cynwyd. Each facility was found to have from zero to six infractions on a checklist of 54 items. Some were fixed on site, according to the report, and none of the facilities was required to shut down. Two of the inspections took place at Aperto BYOB, which has since closed down. The closure was apparently unrelated to the inspections; the first found four violations, all of which were alleviated by the time of the reinspection the following day. Four positive cases of West Nile Virus were found in Wynnewood, Penn Wynne mosquitoes in June.
Updated 7/13/12 at 5 p.m. to add information about last year's spray and potential safety concerns. The Montgomery County Health Department will spray the adult mosquito population in Wynnewood next week, according to a Montgomery County press release. The spraying follows four positive cases of West Nile Virus found in Wynnewood and Penn Wynne mosquitoes in the past month. The spraying will occur in residential areas within the boundary of Remington Road, East Lancaster Avenue, City Line Avenue and Haverford Road, on July 17 between 8:15 and 11 p.m., weather permitting. A rain date is set for July 18. The spraying will not be done by Lankenau Hospital nor by any schools, Montgomery County Communications Director Frank Custer said. There…
