Art of Bread in Narberth Gets New Owner

Georges Perrier steps down from Art of Bread's management.

Georges Perrier's fairly new bakery project on the Main Line, The Art of Bread in Narberth, has recently gotten a new owner, according to Philly.com. Perrier has apparently bowed out of the French cafe and wholesale operation—one of many of his supposed retirement plans.

Amin Bitar—a restaurateur for Middle Eastern food around the Philadelphia area—is now running the cafe and bakery on Montgomery Avenue. According to Philly.com, Bitar anticipates expanding the wholesale operation of the bakery to Sharon Hill in Delaware County.

The Art of Bread is among Perrier's other establishments he has cashed out of: rumors have it that Perrier has also left Georges' in Wayne and Mia in Atlantic City.

However, Perrier is still a silent partner of Table 31 in Center City and will be the guest chef at Mica in Chestnut Hill from May 7-11, according to Zagat. Perrier will be serving up some of his signature dishes that week. Reservations for dining with Perrier are strongly suggested: 267-335-3912.
