March Madness: Not Just Basketball, Also Bar Shuttles and Leprechaun Hunts

Once you dry off, Get Out and do these things.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. You can't just watch birds bathe in all the gigantic rain puddles that are about to accumulate on your lawn, so Patch is coming to the rescue.

If you have a hankering for celebrating an early St. Patrick's Day, you can do that. And if you want to whet your appetite for March Madness, you can do that, too.

  1. When/where: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, downtown Narberth
    Why go: Kids canvass downtown stores, etc., trying to find nine "leprechauns" and the prizes that go with them.
    Cost: nothing

  2. When/where: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Har Zion Temple, 1500 Hagys Ford Road
    Why go: It's the 20th year of this juried craft show.
    Cost: nothing

  3. When/where: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, 206 Price Avenue, Narberth
    Why go: It's the season's first Narberth Community Theater show.
    Cost: $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and kids
  4. Main Line Erin Express
    When/where: Noon Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday, from St. Joseph's University to Villanova University
    Why go: A dozen Main Line bars are running shuttles and Irish-themed drink specials, and more than 900 people have told Facebook they're going.
    Cost: nothing for some, a portion of their dignity for others
  5. Watching NCAA conference tournaments for the Atlantic 10 and Big East
    When/where: Friday through Sunday, your TV or your bar's TV
    Why go:  The results of the tournaments will affect the NCAA Tournament seeding and prospects of likely participants Temple and Villanova. Villanova has already been bounced from the Big East tournament, while Temple plays La Salle Friday night in Atlantic City.
    Cost: nothing, unless you head down to Boardwalk Hall
