Back to School and Storms: Five Things to Know Tuesday

Public school students in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd area begin 2011-2012 classes on a rainy day.

With the return of school and municipal government activity comes the return of Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch's daily Morning Briefing. We have five tidbits to share before you go about your Tuesday.

 

  1. Lower Merion School District students begin classes Tuesday. For those who drive in Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch in the morning or afternoon, when school zone speed limits are in effect, remember and begin classes at 8:20 a.m. and conclude at 3:05 p.m., while , and elementary schools go from 9:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  2. No matter when you're driving on Tuesday, be careful of speed and everything else. Rain is expected all day and night, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Monday evening, the NWS issued a Flood Watch through Wednesday morning.
  3. In both directions of the Schuylkill Expressway between the Conshohocken and City Avenue exits, the right lanes will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for a brushing operation Tuesday through Friday, according to PennDOT.

If the weather cooperates, 's golf team will compete at 3 p.m. Tuesday at  while the girls' soccer and tennis teams play at home at 3:45 p.m. and the boys' soccer team visits Bonner and Prendergast. At , the girls' tennis and volleyball teams have 3:45 p.m. home contests before the field hockey team hosts at 7 p.m. Harriton's girls' soccer team is due to visit Boyertown at 4 p.m.
