Police Blotter: Drivers in 3 Bala Cynwyd Crashes Charged with DUI

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department.

On Monday afternoon, reported to news media the following incidents from the past week:

  • Burglary: A home on the unit block of Oakland Terrace in Bala Cynwyd was burglarized Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The front door was forced open, and electronics and jewelry were taken. There were no known witnesses.
  • Theft from building: A wallet, cash and identification were stolen from an locker just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect was described as a light-skinned black man in his 40s with short hair, wearing a brown leather jacket, blue shirt, jeans and brown shoes.

  • DUI: Daniel Mejia, 21, of Lawrence, MA, was charged with driving under the influence about 3 a.m. Saturday after police said his car struck the open door of a parked deliver vehicle on the 300 block of Levering Mill Road in Merion Station/Bala Cynwyd. Mejia's blood alcohol content measured 0.098.
  • DUI: Kimberly Wright, 20, of Cranbury, NJ, was charged with driving under the influence after her car struck a utility pole about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the unit block of Rock Hill Road in Bala Cynwyd. Wright's blood alcohol content measured 0.186, police said. The pole was not damaged.
