Police Blotter: Blood-Alcohol Test Registers 0.38 for Olive Garden Patron With Small Child

A Bala Cynwyd resident was charged with public intoxication and released.

A Bala Cynwyd woman dining at with a small child was charged with public intoxication Sunday night, Lower Merion police said Monday.

A Breathalyzer test of Karin Linde, 29, of the unit block of Montgomery Avenue showed a 0.38 blood-alcohol content, nearly five times the legal limit.

Police said Linde was cited at the restaurant about 7 p.m. and released into the custody of someone she knew. It was not known whether Linde required hospitalization.

An hour and a half later at the same restaurant, police arrested Philadelphia resident Vivian Burns, 56, who they said had been sitting on a bench outside, yelling obscenities. She was charged with public intoxication for being under the influence of crack cocaine and also charged with disorderly conduct for carrying a crack pipe, police said.

About 3:10 a.m. Saturday, Michael Johnson, 54, of the 4900 block of Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia was charged with public intoxication at 25 E. City Ave. Police said Johnson had his thumb in the air as if attempting to hail a cab or hitchhike, and he greeted an arriving police cruiser by saying his address and asking to be taken there.

A home on the 100 block of Marywatersford Road in Belmont Hills was burglarized sometime from Saturday, April 16, to Monday, April 18, police said. The burglar apparently entered through an unlocked kitchen door and took a laptop computer and $1,200 in cash.
