Lower Merion to Adjust Ward Boundaries

Population changes shown in the 2010 census require the township to shift its representation.

Lower Merion's Board of Commissioners is examining the need to adjust the boundaries for eight of the township's 14 wards, a required step to account for population shifts shown in the 2010 census.

The matter is to be discussed Wednesday night by the Building and Planning Committee. The wards likely to be affected are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13. More details of the township's redistricting obligation are contained in a memo by township staff.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the BOC meeting room at 75 E. Lancaster Ave. For more information, visit the meeting calendar at lowermerion.org.
