Crews Installing Higher Platforms at Cynwyd Station

Work began Tuesday and should last a few weeks, a township official said.

Jackhammering began Tuesday morning at Cynwyd Station, where SEPTA is building higher platforms to allow passengers to board trains without climbing stairs, said Chris Leswing, Lower Merion's assistant director of building and planning.

"This really shows SEPTA's commitment to the Cynwyd Line," Leswing told Patch.

The work is expected to take a couple weeks to complete, without disrupting train service.
