Kelly Lynn became the 's second female officer in history when she was sworn in at Monday night's council meeting.
The hiring also was significant because it brought the force back up to six officers for the first time in a year, the time it has taken to replace the resigned and the retired .
Officer Sean McCabe the department earlier this year from the Philadelphia Police Department. Lynn comes to the department from a position with Montgomery County; she graduated last summer from the Montgomery County police academy.

Mayor Tom Grady and Council President Sam Quinn both congratulated Lynn and wished her a long and happy career in the department.
